The Touring section’s club runs are ideal for those riders who want to go further afield on more challenging rides and are able to devote all day to it. Distances range from regular 80-plus mile rides in the summer, including a few over 100, to about 50 in the winter. Long-distance club riding is all about pace and consistency so touring section runs travel at an appropriate speed for an all-day ride. The touring section is a very sociable bunch – as you’d expect from a group that regularly organises weekend “tours” together using hostels and campsites – so expect to enjoy yourself! The Tourists group rides are currently on hold as members have tended to move to the various Tempo groups.
